On today’s show, Anemari Jansen discusses her biography of Apartheid State Assassin Eugene de Kock, know for being one of the best books about the Apartheid Deep state’s murderous actions during the last decade of Apartheid Rule. She skilfully conveys the motivations and perspectives of both sides of the apartheid struggle, delving into the psychology of the men inside apartheid’s death squads and other matters related to South Africa.
Later, Per Carlson talks about the issue of groupthink leading to poor analysis of current events in the mainstream media.
GUEST 1 OVERVIEW: Anemari Jansen holds `n Mater’s degree in Afrikaans literature and is a published writer of both fiction and non-fiction. Her debut novel Glipstroom was published in 2014, followed by her first non-fiction work, Eugene de Kock: Sluipmoordenaar vir die Staat and Eugene de Kock: Assassin for the State. The English version was longlisted for the Sunday Times/Alan Paton award. In 2019, she co-authored Suiker Britz: Dossier van `n Speurbaas with Stefaans Coetzee.
